So its been to long again since posting, I seem to fall out of favour of doing it, even though I really like it when I can get it right.
My trouble, I think, is I over think it. I should do these daily challenge tasks or something like that since they are short and brief. But there we have it.
OK. My Colourful Wall Art / Funky Wall Art Esty is still moving, still slowly, I managed a custom order and shipped to the USA! I had 2 ordered from the USA and one seems to have gone well, one seems to be bouncing around from one post office to another so I dont really understand that. Perhaps it will just resolve itself in a few days. I shall keep an eye on that. It’s disappointing because I obviously want things to be smooth for my customer, I know myself how frustrating it can be. This was also my first international customer so its really frustrating for me to.
I need to widen or add more prints to the collection of the ones that are selling and look at the ones that don’t. I think my area, or niche as all the gurus say, is developing, I can certainly see where its going. I will concentrate on that.
The digital downloads is not fairing so well, its true I havent marketed it as much but I dont think this is the only reason. Part of why I’ve been less inclined to spend money on it is that so called rate of return of cost of customer. If I spend £15 on advertising on the prints shop and sell 1 or 2 items I may have made £25 – £30 or more whereas with the digital downloads it may only be £7 – £9, obviously that cannot continue long term. Again I’ll monitor this to see where I can improve.
My favourite part of recent weeks is the fancy artsy abstract pinky vaporwave etsy store. I made 3 sales last week! These are the item I like to experiment with, actually to be fair I experiment with all of them but with this store I really push the boat out and search for what it is I’m looking for and not necessarily what the market is looking for. Again, I still have a commercial eye to this.
Which leads me to my last bit, my on website DgtlArtByJason, it is coming along all-be-it very slowly. I think I’ve found the template I’m looking for (Jedi mind tricked myself there!) but wordpress is really very different from how it used to be, why can I not edit the theme files properly anymore? This blocks and what have you seems to make editing much more difficult. I cant fathom woocommerce, frankly I used to just use paypal buttons and found that to work well so I might just implement a variety of Paypal buttons to start with in order to add products. The problem with that I feel will be if I do use WooCommerce they add products in a different way to making posts and adding the button. I’m sorry, if you dont use wordpress and havent in the past this will probably make no sense so I’ll end there. I shall continue!
